Motorola just released the much anticipated Droid Smartphone for Verizon. This was supposed to be the phone that would kill the iPhone. The Droid X GPS is wrapped in metal almost entirely, and is rock solid. Being the thinnest QWERTY slider phone ever.
Droid owners have now had their cool new Motorola Droid Smartphone for Verizon in their hands long enough to have put it through its paces. We contacted Droid owners, and give you their overall feeling, which is surprisingly one-sided.
The owners say the phone looks sturdy, sleek, and feels good in their hands. Droid owners were also heavily sided on the positive about the interface and actual performance of the Android 2.0 OS. The phone is also loaded with Google GPS Maps (exclusive to this phone), which replaces your need for a GPS, and when used with the Google Voice app, is a good enough reason to buy the phone all by itself.
When I powered the phone up, a blazing red eye greeted me, accompanied by the phone announcing its presence by saying, “Droid!” in a robotic voice. Awesome touch. While conducting this Droid review, I was drawn to the capacitive screen, which has the best display with the sharpest, most vivid colors I have ever seen on a phone. A short tap on the search button, and Google search comes up, but what was really cool was touching and holding over the search button brings up Google’s voice search. The Android 2.0 operating system is blazing fast, and I liked the double tap zoom feature as opposed to the pinch screen zoom on the i-Phone. With Verizon’s 3G network, the largest of any cell phone company, you are never out of touch.
Introducing the Droid X GPS by Motorola The Ultimate smart phones
Its screen is gigantic. Its capacity is huge. Every experience from messaging to movies is larger than life. It can even connect with your HD TV so you can share little things with large audiences. And most importantly, it comes with a double antenna design. The kind that allows you to hold the phone any way you like and use it just about anywhere to make crystal clear calls. You have a voice and you deserve to be heard.
The main specs of this smartphone are: The Android OS, support for GPS and Wi-Fi, a 5 megapixel camera with a special Dual LED Flash and Image Stabilizer, but the main feature is the screen of the smartphone: its a 3.7 inch screen with a rather large 480X854 resolution and the QWERTY keyboard.
