Samsung has just announced Samsung Wave, and I was likely to put the hand above during a small moment – not enough to provide something near to a test, but sufficiently to give my “first impressions”. Apparatus is of good invoice, and crown jewel, it is new screen AMOLED (call it AMOLED 2 if you want), who is better than Nexus One, which is already excellent. The processor of Samsung is an actualization of that which is used in the iPhone 3GS, and should provide very a good performance (total). OS is always a beta release, then the design will change from here so that this apparatus left on the market, from here 3 to 4 months. I tried to see the fundamental ones, like the reactivity, and as usual, I tested the scrolling to measure time between the displacement of the finger and displacement with the screen. It is very reactive – some share between Nexus One (faster than this one) and the 3GS (slower than the latter). Because the hardware is more powerful than the 3GS, I suspect that the shift is due to OS, as it is the case for Android.

From a physical point of view, the apparatus with the solid air. It also has the air smaller than the iPhone or Nexus One – the two telephones with détrôner in this category. I find that the style is very similar to the other Samsung telephones, then, not of here surprised. The look is good, but nothing extraordinary. Owing to the fact that the apparatus is thin, Samsung decided to add the keyboard virtual, available only in landscape mode (that you think about it?).

As a whole, I think that the faster processor and the screen are the two pillars of Samsung Wave. For the moment, OS owner and the absence of api are a little wobbly, but Samsung makes of sound to better cure it quickly. One will see well.

According to what I heard, Samsung recognizes that it was taken of runs by the attack of the smartphones last year, but 2010 should be one year comeback for the firm, with smartphones which support the principal platforms such as Android and Windows Mobile. Samsung also has great projects for its own OS Bada, because he sees the advantage all of having: hardware, OS, api.
